What are the practices like?

We have specifically designed practices to teach the basics of track & field, but also maximize peak performance at the end of the year. We devot 1-2 days a week for event specific technique teaching, and the rest of the week we build an athletic base, to ensure that development and maintenace of the athletes bodies.

Will participating in Track & Field help in other sports?

Absolutely. Many active sports utilize some of the same fundementals that we work on in track. For example, most sports have some form of running involved. Unfortunately, running has been overlooked and many athletes do not know how to properly do so. This lack of fundementals results in poor performance and some injuries. We teach proper running form designed for track but easily transferred to any other sport.

What kind of equipment is needed for participation?

There's not a lot of equipment you need for Track. Essentially, all you need is a good pair of running shoes, and a good attitude. However, during competition, it is recommended that the use of event specific track spikes be used. Shoes are specifically designed for each event, so one should be concious in their events when purchasing spikes.

What is the cost for participating?

Track & Field is one of the least expensive sports to participate in. The only thing that is needed to pay for is the transportation cost, which is $50.

What events will I be able to do?

We place athletes in events to maximize self performance, and adhere to the athletes specified skills. However, there is freedom to participate in any event desired, subject to athletic potential and ability.

How many events can I do?

In high school, there is a 4 event maximum limit. There is also only a 1 event minimum limit for participation. However, we firmly believe in well rounded athletes. Most track events compliment others, so participating in more than 1 event is preffered.
